2 Super Saturday wins

1st win 20-12 and seconds win 10-6 vs Bristol City

Both Taunton Soul 1st and 2nd teams continued their good starts to the season with wins at Super Saturday in Bristol vs Bristol City 2nds and 3rds.

The second team started well moving into a 3-1 lead with goals from Meg Collins, Ben Groves and Jess Robertson (first league goal).

They never looked back maintaining a healthy lead throughout with goals from Adam Pitman, Stuart Allcock and Mark Francis, as well as 1 more each for Ben and Jess.

Andy Mackerness came on with 15 minutes to go and scored his first league goal to ensure Taunton won 10-6. Meg Collins and Mark Francis were voted most valuable players for the game.

The first team continued where the second team left off opening a nice lead with Tom Mclaren seemingly scoring with every shot.

By half time Tom and Gabriel Carrillo had already both scored 5 goals each, with Dave Hill and Matt Fillary also scoring to finish with a 12-4 lead.

Bristol City fought back early in the second half and closed the gap considerably. Fortunately Dave Hill took over and scored 3 quick goals to settle everyone down.

Ellie Kowalski, Tom, and Gabriel scored towards the end to ensure Taunton won 20-12. Both Tom and Gabriel ended the game with 7 goals each. Tom Mclaren and Sarah Khan were voted the most valuable players.
